Waffle Maker Wanda

Can I remove and clean the heating plates?

The heating plates of Wanda are not removable, but that’s absolutely no problem!
They feature a high-quality non-stick coating and an integrated overflow groove, making cleaning effortless. Simply wipe the plates with a soft damp cloth after cooling – no disassembly needed.

Can I make sandwiches with Wanda?

Yes, you can – but please note: Wanda isn’t designed like a sandwich toaster, so you won’t get the same results.
If you do prepare sandwiches, do not close the locking latch during use, and be aware that the waffle iron’s surface can become hot.

Do I need to grease the plates before use?

No, you don’t! Wanda’s double non-stick PTFE coating ensures your waffles release perfectly – even without butter or oil.
Please avoid using spray-on fats or baking release sprays, as these can damage the coating over time.

Does Wanda have an automatic overheating protection?

Yes. Wanda is equipped with a temperature safety system that automatically shuts off the heating if the device becomes too hot.
In addition, it features a 20-minute automatic standby mode – a software safety function that activates when no batter is added, preventing accidental overheating or energy waste.

Is Wanda’s non-stick coating PFAS-free?

Wanda’s coating is a high-quality, water-based double non-stick layer made from PTFE (Polytetrafluoroethylene) – the same material used in professional cookware for its heat resistance and smooth release properties.
PTFE is food-safe, corrosion-resistant, and durable, consisting of a black primer layer and a silvery-black top layer, cured at high temperature.
Please note: PTFE technically belongs to the PFAS group, but Wanda’s coating is free from PFOA and produced under strict European food safety standards.

Why do Wanda’s hinges feel loose?

That’s intentional!
The hinges are designed with slight movement to allow your waffle to expand upward as it bakes. This ensures the batter can rise properly and evenly.

How much batter should I use per bake?

Less is more!
Add just enough batter to form a thin, even layer that fully covers the plate without overflowing.
The waffle will rise during baking, so avoid overfilling.

How do I choose the perfect browning level?

After selecting your desired program using the “Recipe” button, turn the dial to adjust the browning level.
If you’re unsure, start with the medium setting and adjust in later batches to your taste.

What are the materials and coating used in Wanda?

  • Heating plates: Aluminum (ACD-12)

  • Coating type: 2-layer PTFE non-stick coating
  • Composition: Food-grade PTFE (no PFOA or harmful additives)
