During ice cream production, Emma operates at around 66 dB, which is similar to the noise level of a normal conversation.
You can comfortably talk or watch TV while your ice cream is being prepared.
How many servings does one batch make?
A full container of ice cream yields approximately 6 servings — that’s up to 14 scoops of ice cream or sorbet.
How much ice cream mixture should I fill into Emma’s container?
Emma’s ice cream container has a total capacity of 1.5 liters.
However, you should fill it with no more than two-thirds (≈1 liter) of mixture.
Why? During preparation, Emma incorporates air into the ice cream, causing it to expand.
The container should also be filled to at least one-third (≈500 ml) for proper churning.
Tip: Overfilling can cause the mixture to overflow during freezing.
How long does it take to make ice cream with Emma?
Emma prepares your ice cream or sorbet in about 30 minutes of churning time.
The colder your mixture is before starting, the shorter the preparation time.
After the program ends, Emma automatically switches to a keep-cool mode, preventing your ice cream from melting too early.
Can I make vegan or lactose-free ice cream with Emma?
Yes, absolutely! You can easily prepare vegan and lactose-free ice cream with your Emma ice cream maker.
Replace milk or yogurt with plant-based alternatives such as soy milk, coconut milk, or soy yogurt.
If your recipe calls for gelatin, substitute it with agar-agar, a plant-based gelling agent.
Tip: Sorbets are naturally vegan and lactose-free — made only from fruit, water, and sugar — and are a perfect choice for fruit lovers.
Can I add fruits, nuts, or other ingredients to my ice cream?
Yes! With Emma’s convenient refill opening, you can easily add your favorite mix-ins such as fruit, nuts, cookie pieces, or chocolate.
The best time to add them is about 5 minutes before the end of the program.
If you want to create a swirl effect with fruit purée or syrup, add it 1 minute before the end.

The stirring paddle broke – what can cause this?
Please check whether the lid was opened during operation.
If the machine runs without the lid in place, the paddle loses stability and can break at the drive connection.
In this case, the entire machine must be replaced, as this is not a defect but due to incorrect handling.
