Can I set Elisa’s temperature freely?
No. Elisa’s temperature is pre-set for each of the four programs (Ice Cream, Yogurt, Cooling, Stir).
You can adjust the preparation time individually using the control knob; the machine manages the optimal temperature automatically.
How loud is Elisa?
During ice-cream preparation, Elisa operates at around 81 dB.
Tip: Place Elisa on a flat, stable surface to minimize vibration noise.
How much mixture should I fill into Elisa?
Always fill a maximum of 2/3 of the container (leave 1/3 empty), because the mixture expands while freezing or fermenting.
For correct operation, fill at least 1/3 of the container.
- Typical yield at max fill (2/3): approx. 2 liters of ice cream or yogurt (total finished volume).
How many servings does one batch make?
- Ice cream: about 8–10 servings
- Yogurt: about 4 large servings
Can I make vegan yogurt and vegan ice with Elisa?
Absolutely. Replace cream or milk with coconut milk or unsweetened soy milk.
For yogurt, use store-bought soy yogurt with live cultures or yogurt starter cultures.
Note: Vegan yogurt usually needs more time to culture—about 12 hours—for a creamy result.
Quick vegan-yogurt pointers
- Warm plant milk to ~38–40 °C before adding starter.
- Use live cultures (check the label) or a starter powder as directed.
- Keep everything very clean and maintain the temperature for 12–14 hours.
- Thickeners (e.g., agar-agar, locust bean gum, guar gum) can improve firmness—follow pack guidance.
“Elisa is blinking and does nothing” (Yogurt mode)
This is normal. In the Yogurt program, the display blinks, there is no stirring (no movement/noise), and the machine maintains the set fermentation conditions while the timer counts down.
Can I change or mute Elisa’s sounds?
Yes — system tones and volume can be changed or muted:
- Switch the device on.
- Hold both arrow keys at the same time.
- The display shows the tone selection.
- Use up/down to pick a tone or OFF (mute).
Important exception: In Yogurt mode, certain program tones cannot be disabled while the unit is actively maintaining temperature.
How do I clean Elisa?
- Dishwasher-safe: ice container, paddle, lid, measuring cup
- Hand-wash: machine housing and the ice-cream scoop (wipe with a damp cloth)
Always dry parts thoroughly before reassembly.
The paddle broke — what now?
First ask whether the lid was opened during operation.
Without the lid fitted, the paddle lacks stability and can break at the drive coupling. In that case, the entire machine must be replaced. This is misuse, not a manufacturing defect.
Error codes
- E01 – Short circuit at temperature sensor → sensor is defective and must be replaced.
- E02 – Open circuit at temperature sensor → unit typically requires full replacement.
If either code persists after a power cycle, contact support.
