Does Mia create a full layer of foam or just froth the top?
Mia’s whisk attachment evenly whips air into your milk throughout the entire process – whether you’re using warm or cold milk. The result is a consistently firm foam from top to bottom.
We recommend using the milk foam immediately after preparation, as it can naturally separate again over time.
Is Mia non-stick coated?
No – and it doesn’t need to be.
Mia’s jug is made from high-quality stainless steel, so milk residues don’t stick easily.
If you’ve prepared cocoa or any sweetened drink, you can simply place Mia in the dishwasher.
Just make sure to unscrew the wooden handle parts before cleaning.
Can I use Mia’s jug on an induction stove?
Unfortunately, no.
Our tests confirmed that Mia’s jug cannot be heated directly on an induction hob. The stainless-steel material and base structure are not induction-compatible.
Can Mia melt chocolate?
Mia isn’t designed to melt solid chocolate.
She can heat already liquid ingredients like milk or cocoa mixtures, but not melt chocolate pieces or bars.
Mia beeps and shuts off.
If Mia stops after three beeps without heating or frothing, the whisk may be slightly jammed.
To fix this, turn the whisk head manually clockwise while the jug is empty and dry – this usually resets the mechanism.
The whisk sits unevenly on the base – is something wrong?
No need to worry.
Mia’s whisk attachments are held in place magnetically, which allows a little play and flexibility. It’s completely normal that the whisk doesn’t feel tightly fixed.
Can I run multiple cycles in a row?
Yes! You can use Mia for several rounds back-to-back.
Simply rinse the jug briefly with cold water between uses to prevent residue build-up on the bottom.
Plant-based milk alternatives won’t froth – what can I do?
Mia usually froths cow’s milk, goat’s milk, lactose-free, and plant-based milks without issues – as long as the ribbed whisk attachment is used.
Froth stability depends on the fat and protein content of the milk. Many plant-based milks are low in fat, which can make frothing difficult.
For best results, use Barista editions of your favorite plant milks.
Homemade almond milk tip:
Add 1 teaspoon soy or sunflower lecithin and 1 teaspoon neutral oil per liter – this improves foam stability significantly.
Why does Mia squeak during use?
Mia needs to spin with high power to create stable foam, which naturally produces some sound.
If she squeaks or rattles, check whether the jug is properly centered on the base.
Remove it and reposition it carefully.
Also, try removing and reinserting the whisk attachment, as it aligns magnetically – a tilted position can cause squeaking.
Which milk works best for frothing?
You can use any type of milk, dairy or plant-based.
However, foam quality varies by brand and composition.
The best results are achieved with cold milk that has higher fat and protein content, such as whole milk, almond, or cashew milk.
Tip: Check our Plant Milk Foam Test in the magazine for detailed comparisons.
How long does Mia take to froth milk?
This depends on milk type and temperature, but typically 2–3 minutes.
The program stops automatically once the foam has reached the right firmness.
How much milk can I froth at once?
Mia can prepare 100–250 ml of hot or cold milk foam, heated milk, or hot chocolate.
The minimum and maximum fill levels are marked inside the jug.
Do not exceed the maximum level to avoid overflow during frothing.
